ActionID is your account for accessing any NGP-VAN tool, such as Liberalist or MiniVAN. A single ActionID account can be used to access multiple NGP-VAN accounts, with only one username and password, which does not need to be changed unless preferred.
ActionID accounts are managed by the developer (NGPVan), so if a password reset is required at any point, simply click the Forgot Your Password? link on the login page. The Helpdesk is not able to reset passwords.
Creating an ActionID
You can create an ActionID when you are prompted to sign in with ActionID - such as when you are first invited to join your riding's Liberalist committee, or trying to access other NGP-VAN tools such as MiniVAN or OpenVPB.
- At the log-in page, click "Create Account"
- Fill in the required fields and click the blue Create Account button at the bottom of the page.
Important Note: ActionID accounts give you the option of setting up 2-factor authentication. This optional security add-on would require you to enter a code (provided through SMS or authentication app) each time you log into your account. If you choose to set up 2-factor authentication for your ActionID account and tie it to your phone, make sure to store your ActionID’s recovery codes in a safe place. If you lose or break your phone, and can no longer use it to authenticate your access to Liberalist, you can use one of the backup codes to bypass the authentication page.
However, without your phone or your backup codes, you will need to send us an email at campaign@liberal.ca and request that we reset your ActionID account. From there, we will work with the developer to reset your ActionID.
